What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a deep state of calmness and relaxation combined with a hyper-aware mental
focus. In hypnosis the subconscious mind is accessible and very open to direct therapeutic
changes. When hypnotized you are mentally alert, physically relaxed, extremely aware and in
complete control. Usually when we try to change, we can only access our conscious mind -
using hypnosis we can access the subconscious mind where the majority of behavior is
governed. This allows you to create the changes you seek quickly and permanently.

With hypnotherapy you use the power of your own mind to create the life you want to live. You
are never unconscious or out of control. You can not do or say anything under hypnosis that is
in conflict with your personal beliefs, standards, or moral code.
Hypnotherapists work with vocational and avocational self-improvement and are not licensed by the State of New York
as Healing Arts Practitioners. Some conditions may require a medical or psychological referral.

issues and improving focus and performance. Hypnotherapy is considered
to be a “short-term” therapy because it focuses on behavior modification.
Unlike other forms of therapy there is no need to spend years looking for the
root causes in order to gain insight. We merely identify unwanted behavior
and modify or eliminate it.
